Two New Self-Assessments for District and State Leadership Teams

December 19, 2019

The Technical Assistance Center on PBIS is excited to announce the availability of two new, pilot surveys for state and district leadership teams – The State Systems Fidelity Inventory (SSFI) and the District Systems Fidelity Inventory (DSFI). Because these are pilot versions, there may be changes made before the final versions come out. We will announce any changes the authors make when the final versions are ready.

These two new surveys replace the original Blueprint Part 2 Self-assessment as better ways to evaluate your capacity to implement PBIS, to improve your systems and practices, and to assess your ability to sustain implementation across the schools you support. District and state leadership teams should take their respective survey before they begin implementation and then as an annual assessment in subsequent years.

While each survey contains a different number of questions (DSFI: 56 questions, SSFI: 45 questions), both take about 60-90 minutes to complete and both assess nine areas of implementation:

  • Leadership Teaming
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Funding and Alignment
  • Policy
  • Workforce Capacity
  • Training
  • Coaching
  • Evaluation
  • Local Implementation Demonstrations

Before your leadership team takes the DSFI or the SSFI, be sure you understand the core components of PBIS, can define your team’s role within the larger educational system, and have a goal for how many schools will implement PBIS in your area over the next five years.

Whether your leadership team previously used the Blueprint Part 2 Self-Assessment, or you want to implement PBIS in your district and state, download a copy of the DSFI or the SSFI and start action planning today!
