School-wide PBS in High Schools

In May of 2004, the Illinois State Board of Education EBD/PBIS Network in collaboration with the OSEP Center on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support hosted a forum that focused on implementation of school-wide positive behavior support in high schools. This event was important because despite our successes in elementary and middle schools, we have much more to learn about what PBS looks like in high school settings.

More than 170 school leadership team members, coaches, trainers, evaluators, parents, researchers, and policy makers and implementers were in attendance. Sessions included plenary speakers, training and demonstrations, roundtable discussions, and group problem solving and action planning.

A major outcome of this event was a monograph compiled and edited by Hank Bohanon-Edmonson of Loyola University and Brigid Flannery of the University of Oregon.
